Reinstatement on Image Re-load

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

If you quit (and save) your Dolphin image with active Database Connection objects, you will find that these will be correctly reinstated when the image is re-loaded. In general, you'll find this to be a very convenient situation since it matches the way in which you expect most Smalltalk objects to behave. However, you should bear in mind that these active objects will require the ODBC data source to still be available when the image is restarted. If it is not, you will get a number of walkbacks during the restart process and these may potentially prevent the image from re-loading correctly. To avoid losing valuable work, you should bear this in mind when using the Database Connection interface.
