In previous versions of Dolphin, view resources were saved down in a binary (STB) format. For X6 we have implemented a new "literal filer" that is capable of outputting a view as an array of Smalltalk literal objects that can be compiled into a class-side method.
The advantage of this is that views are no longer "black boxes" whose contents are hidden from the rest of the system. Hence, if you browse references to a particular command symbol, now you'll be able to see exactly which views hold that symbol as part of their menus. Similarly, any refactoring changes, such as class or method renames will also be propagated through all view resources (since they are now just ordinary Smalltalk methods)
