DolphinSure Certificates

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

Before any piece of data can be digitally signed it is necessary to have a certificate that identifies the person or organisation that created the data. These certificates must be issued by a DolphinSure Certification Authority (CA). Currently, Object Arts Ltd is the only Certification Authority capable of issuing DolphinSure certificates.

Note: DolphinSure certificates are in a proprietary format. However, the mechanisms used by DolphinSure to sign and verify messages are already accepted standards (notably SHA-1 and DSA) but the format of the certificate data is not.
