The Rewrite Tool is a plug-in for the Class and System Browsers that provides a user interface onto the Refactoring Browsers source rewriting facility. The rewrite engine uses a powerful but simple language for specifying transformations of code.

Because the engine performs matches and rewrites using compiler syntax trees it is much more accurate and flexible than using a simple source code "find and replace".
