We have placed these Dolphin Smalltalk videos on the Smalltalk channel at Blip. Their player gives you the ability to watch in fullscreen mode if you wish. However, the disadvantage is that there are no chapter markers in the shows as there are with QuickTime.

Most of the time it's easier for us to understand by seeing rather than by just reading. With this in mind, we have opened our new video library.

Over time, we hope this will build into an extensive collection of "how to" information for both seasoned Dolphin programmers and those who are just starting to get into Smalltalk.

Interfacing with ITunes COM
Not only is it easy to interface to COM/ActiveX components in Dolphin Smalltalk but we like to think that the Dolphin development environment is one of the best places to experiment with various controls to test out their functionality. In this 15 minute programme, Andy Bower, shows how to bring an ITunes component into Dolphin and then how to hold an interactive dialog with the available interfaces.

Dolphin's MVP framework continues to appear daunting to new Smalltalk users and yet it's really rather similar to Visual Basic but with "more wing nuts". Perhaps revisting the design rationale behind MVP might help? [more]
