Hi, and welcome to Object Arts. It's our aim to help you build software; better, faster and you'll have more fun while doing it. We believe that object programming with Smalltalk is a fantastic experience and it's for this reason that we created our Dolphin Smalltalk products.

But Smalltalk is very different from the other programming languages out there. Not just in the language, not just in the environment, but in the whole way that "objects" are approached. If you have time, dedication and a desire to find a better way, then Smalltalk may be for you. And to help you we've produced a free, personal version of our product to give you as long as you need to get there. Downloding Dolphin Smalltalk may just change the way you develop software, forever!

For several years now, in a climate of free and open source development tools, it has been difficult for us to create and sell our products in a maner which is commercially viable. For this reason we have decided that it would be impractical for us to commit to major new developments of Dolphin Smalltalk into the future. What this means is that Dolphin will continue to support Win32 under both XP and Vista but we will not be porting the IDE to .NET or any other platform. We will still offer the Community Edition for free download and the Professional version can be purchased by those who have evaluated that the Win32 product meets their needs.
