Tip: Serial Numbers
Your serial number can contain both O (oh) and 0 (zero) characters. To avoid the possibility of mistyping it is adviable to use copy/paste to transfer it into the Dolphin unlock dialog.

Dolphin Smalltalk X6 is now available in both Professional and Community Editions and the latest installer can be downloaded here.

Dolphin X6.1 (Beta 2) -- 8 January 2008 (Release notes for this version)

The X6 installer can be used for both the Professional and the Community versions. The X6.1 beta is only avaiable for Professional users at present.

Once you have downloaded and installed the software you will need a serial number to unlock the product the first time you run it. If you have not already done so, you can purchase a license for Dolphin Smalltalk X6 Professional from our Online Shop. If you intend to use the Community Edition then you can apply for a free serial number when you first run the software.

When you first install Dolphin you should always run a Live Update from the System Folder to ensure that you have the latest software patches.

The above link provides a complete installation of  Dolphin Smalltalk X6 including all documentation. However, from time to time, we may update the documentation/help components of the software separately. If you don't wish to wait for the next full release of the product you may download any newer documentation files here.

Dolphin X6 Help/Documentation -- 27th January 2006

This can be unzipped into your main Dolphin installation directory (usually, \Program Files\Object Arts\Dolphin Smalltalk 6.0).

Dolphin's MVP framework continues to appear daunting to new Smalltalk users and yet it's really rather similar to Visual Basic but with "more wing nuts". Perhaps revisting the design rationale behind MVP might help? [more]
